Corn Tortillas

Corn tortillas are the base of many different Mexican foods and in Viva Mexico Ireland you can find a great selection tortillas from nixtamal and masa (maseca).

There are different types of tortillas such as:

• Corn Tortillas o Tortillas de Maiz:  Mexican corn tortillas are made of corn and are gluten free, these can be made from white, yellow or blue corn and sometimes you can also find them made with red corn or purple corn.
• Flour Tortillas or Tortillas de Harina: These tortillas or wraps are traditional from the North of Mexico and are made from Wheat, water, fat and pinch of salt; there are different sizes from small to large burrito wraps and are more traditional from the North of Mexico from states from Sonora, Chihuahua and Nuevo Leon.
• Tostadas: These are corn tortillas which are fried or baked.
