It's official. Nagual presents the first 100% organic Mexican corn tortilla in Europe for sale in commercial establishments. The product, made with ingredients from organic farming and under sustainability criteria, is suitable for all audiences, since, from the outset, it does not contain gluten or added sugars.

In addition, Nagual's organic corn tortillas are suitable for vegans and vegetarians and low in saturated fat, which makes them a product with a high nutritional value, something to which the contribution of fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals that represent for our body.

Authentic Mexican organic corn tortilla

At Nagual, a Central American gastronomy company specialized in corn tortillas and created in 2003, we make the tortillas at our plant in Barberà del Vallès (Barcelona) following the strictest quality controls and under strict handling, hygiene and quality standards. This special attention to detail also extends to the selection of non-transgenic nixtamalized corn that makes up the main ingredient of the tortillas and that we have worked hard to find among a wide range of suppliers from organic farming.

Our tortillas preserve the traditional origins of the elaboration of this Central American food, as well as its character, a purpose that the founders of Nagual, the Catalan Àngels Secanella and the Honduran Ramón Andara, sought from the beginning of their journey and that in 2020 endorsed a once again by investing 20,000 euros in R&D to achieve a high product life and quality. The result is corn tortillas with the same texture, flexibility, and taste as those found in Central America.

Recognitions and certifications

Throughout his 18-year career, Nagual has seen his work recognized on several occasions. In 2013 it was distinguished by PIMEC as the most competitive microenterprise of the year.

Our tortillas have the European seal ELS of the barred spike, which guarantees that they are suitable for coeliacs, and with the V-LABEL seal, which also makes them suitable for vegans. Two stamps that each of the varieties of corn that we make available to the consumer have (white, yellow and blue, the latter aimed at the Horeca channel) and the different ranges of tortillas: the integral one, the special pack of fajitas and mini tacos, or the wraps.
