A relative of the tomato, a member of the nightshade (Solanaceae) family and also related to cape gooseberries(phyalis). In Mexico the fruit is called Tomatillos or tomates verdes. 

Tomatillos provide that tart flavor in Mexican green sauces and are the main ingredient of green salsa. Without Tomatillos there would be no salsa! La Costena Tomatillos can be used to make salsas or sauces and other dishes.

Storage:

Keep in a cool dry place, away from sunlight. Once opened, place in an air tight container and keep refrigerated for up to one week.
